That’s what I think about when I think of winter. Everyday now it approaches 3pm and I think to myself time to light the fire… I go out into the bush and find a few stick for kindling and thankfully my lovely husband has chop me some nice jarrah wood.

My son, Jack loves the outdoors. So far we are living in our gumboots and some lovely wool knitted jumpers from my grandma. We’re not quite wearing beanies yet, but as it gets colder, it is only a matter of time.

Blue Cheese is a favourite choice in our family….and Red Wine is so well suited to our climate. It’s amazing how our palates change with the climate. After spending the summer drinking SBS, the other night I had a craving for wooded Chardonnay. So off I wondered down to the winery to grab a bottle of 2008 Reserve Chardonnay. Yummy!

I often get ask if I drink wine. What’s my favourite?  How much? Well…..let’s be honest…I drink wine most nights and my favourite changes all the time. After a summer of drinking SBS and Unoaked Chardonnay, I can already see Wooded Chardonnay, Riesling and Cab Sauv coming back on the menu. There is nothing better after the full on 2 hours of an emotional kid that you feed, bath, bottle of milk and put to bed, to sit down on the couch with a big glass of red and catch your breath. Finally some peace…..
