The Life of a Winemaker per usual I have been busy. For those that follow me on social media will know how much as I often post pictures of what I am up to. Now I will put them in a Blog for you- just some of the things I have been up to this month.

We bottled up some Olive Oil ready for the long weekend. We lease some local trees nearby. Olive Oil is a great match to wine. All you need is some bread, olive oil, dukka and vino and your afternoon is sorted. I also made some Bush Tucker Dukka for cellar door which is popular.

I often pick Jack up off the bus at the end of our driveway. This picture is a whimsical look at the isolation of where we live and the beauty of the roadside bush.

The Perth Wine Show came and went. I tried some wines in the morning at the exhibitors tasting. I good chance to look at styles and benchmarking your wines.. Followed by the WCA Lunch at the Hyatt where I tried some more wines....

We are doing some bottling at the moment and we needed to do some trials and adjustments to the wines. These are the scales we use to measure out sulfer additions.

I have a few barrels still going through Malo at the moment. It is not usual for wines in the Great Southern to go through a slow malotic fermentation with our cold winters. It is always a good and simple trick to simple put the barrels outside for a sun bake and to warm the up a bit.

We have done a lot of local wine tastings this week. This is where we spend 3 hours at a local liquor store tasting our wines and talking to poeple to help promote our wines. This month we have done North Road Liquor, Oyster Habour Store, Mt Barker Co-op Liquor and Denmark Liquor Store to name a few.

And I have been busy working on my exhibition for the Southern Art Trail which I have written a blog post on.

But really......these are only some of the things we do......
