It's good to be the boss! Start of Vintage 2013

Sometimes it's good to be the boss- Mum enjoying a cuppa while watching the boys do their final checks on the Harvester.
Meanwhile the boys where playing with they new toy and doing finial checks before harvesting that night. Mum was quite cheeky and suggests they take the L Plates in the shed out and put them on the Harvester. :-)


Meanwhile back at the ranch...

The photo is of our Riesling juice. everyday this week I have been tasting grape juice, whether it be Riesling, Chardonnay, Muller or Pinot. And Jack loves it! he practically sculls the glass of juice after I have finished with it! Winemaker in the making!!! that's what I like to see. :-) So far, the quality is high but the quanity is low. I will not have enough Muller to sell when it is released! :-(

 Vinatge is here and so is the media. In between tasty juice I have been on  the phone and email to the media. They all won't to know how vinatge is going and what kind of year we are in for. This is a great little quote in WBM magazine. Sums up vintage quite nicely! They ask various winemakers to write what vinatge meant to them, how they prep, what music they listen, daily routines etc. It was a great snapshot of the Australian wine indusrty. Basically we all do long days, eats lots, drink lots, have a fridge full of coopers green, sleep anywhere, don't see anyone, live on coffee and manage to loose 5kgs in a month. Yep, sounds right to me!
