Mechanical Harvesting

The boys had a big night on the havester working from 12 midnight to noon the next day. So I thought I'd be nice and drop of a round of coffee's, muffins and toasted sandwiches. I also got an invite to jump a board and take some photo's- so here we go.....

The first one was of Nigel lining up over the vineyard row and you can see the chaser bin already lined up and waiting.

here is a good shot of working together/ giving instructions. The circle for turning are tight and you don't want to hit any posts!

This is the arm that conveys the grapes from the harvester to the chaser bin.

and a picture of it in process.

This isn't our vineyard but a nieghbours but it is a nice shot high up on the harvester  and the repeatition of rows.

Cool as a cumcumber driving the harvester!

Lining up again and a good example of how dry it is!! a very dry year!!

WBM Magazine has a vintage selfie competition- I have been entering a few times!! No doubt I will do a Blog about after vintage!! But in the meantime I thought I'd add this one because we look like we are having fun!!

There are some great videos of the harvester working from last years vintage here. Very educational and well worth a look!
