High quality vintage forecast amid low yields

Wine producers are hoping a high quality product will make up for low yields in this year's vintage.
The nation's peak industry body, Wines Australia, has released its 2013 vintage review report which predicts high quality red and white wine varieties in the Great Southern and Mount Barker regions.
However, the report warns tonnage and yields are down in some areas.
Kim Tyrer from the Mount Barker Wine Producers Association says wineries are confident of high quality products but low yields could cause some issues.
"You might have a position on a shelf and if you can no longer stock that position on a shelf they'll put someone else in that position, so you get replaced I guess," she said.
"It might reduce your options, where you might want to sell to certain people but you can't because you can't make their volume."
She says the region's producers are optimistic.
"That is a little bit of concern to some people in some areas but in terms of quality, we're bottling our 2013 white today and they're looking incredibly aromatic, really fresh, really lively, with nice acidity and nice balance," she said.
